PAJU, South Korea (AP) North and South Korea moved closer to an agreement on reopening a jointly run factory park but provided no indication when the shuttered complex might resume work.

The Kaesong factory park located just north of the South s border was the last remaining major rapprochement project between the Koreas before Pyongyang stopped operations in April amid a torrent of war threats.

The Koreas released a statement Wednesday saying they will "actively" make efforts to help South Korean companies repair facilities and resume operations at Kaesong. The Koreas also agreed that a restarted factory would include Internet and mobile phone connections.

The statement, while not conclusive, marked an improvement on six past failed rounds of talks. The last round ended in a scuffle.
