Summary Libya says it will provide reasons for its appeal within three weeks.
THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) - Libya has appealed the International Criminal Court s order that a son and one-time heir apparent of late dictator Moammar Gadhafi be tried in The Hague.
Friday s appeal asks the court to reverse its decision that Seif al-Islam Gadhafi should be tried at the ICC and suspend its order that Libya hand over Seif al-Islam, who is being held by a militia in the Libyan town of Zintan.
ICC judges ruled last week that Libya is unable to give Seif al-Islam a fair trial and told the country s new leaders to hand him to the court to face justice for allegedly murdering and persecuting protesters in the uprising that toppled his father s regime in 2011.
