Milliband hopeful of swift end to detention of yachtsmen by Iran

British Foreign Secretary David Miliband on Tuesday said that he is hopeful of swift end to the detention of five yachtsmen by Iran. David Miliband said that the five yachtsmen are civilians who may have accidentally strayed into Iranian waters. Organisers of a race in which the yachtsmen had planned to take part said they had reported problems with a propeller en route from Bahrain to Dubai in the Gulf. This is a human story of five young yachtsmen. It's got nothing to do with politics, it's got nothing to do with nuclear enrichment programmes, this is a consular case which is being treated as a consular case by the United Kingdom and I am sure will be treated as a consular case by the Iranian authorities because it has no relationship to any of the other bigger issues, said Miliband. On that basis I hope that this will be resolved in a professional and speedy manner, Miliband added.
