The US special representative for Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke has said that US Secretary of State Hillary Clintons upcoming tour of Pakistan is of vital importance, adding that US administration will extend its support to Pakistan. Holbrooke maintained that the eyes of entire world were fixed on Clintons visit to Pakistan and termed it Clintons most important tour since she took office. Sources disclosed that US institutes had requested Clinton to postpone Pakistans tour till the violence goes down but she stressed to go to Pakistan at a time when it is fighting against militants. Holbrooke observed that conditions linked to Pakistans aid were not a big problem and Clinton, during her tour, would like to know about real needs of Pakistani people in her meetings with Pakistani officials, opposition leaders and important personalities. According to Holbrooke, Clinton wasnt going to Pakistan to talk about new conditions on Pakistanis or the elected government rather she would deliver the message of friendship, cooperation and assistance for Pakistan.
