Chinas capital prepares for a day of extraordinary spectacle and security today, celebrating the country's ascendance as a prospering power 60 years after Mao Zedong proclaimed its embrace of communism. Security is elaborately tight, with huge swaths of the city under tight surveillance and control. The parade of picture-perfect soldiers and well-drilled civilians, dozens of elaborate floats and lines of tanks and missiles will be a proud moment for many Chinese citizens. Some eager residents took the initiative to come out on the street and take a glimpse of the floats behind cordons and fences. The main ceremony is being held in Tiananmen Square. The ceremony kicked off with the address of President Hu Jintao. This ceremony is arranged after every ten years. China is a big military and economic power. Even the US asks China for help to get rid of financial crisis. China has also entered into the space. China has boarders with 14 countries including Pakistan, India, North Korea, Tajikistan, Laos and Kazakhstan. China is the fourth biggest economy of the world.
