The smell of hope has replaced that of sulphur at the United Nations, Hugo Chavez, the Venezuelan president, said addressing the United Nations (UN) session as he compared Barack Obama to his predecessor, George W. Bush. Chavez condemned capitalism as a chief cause of climate change and other environmental problems in a speech that touched on Albert Einstein, Karl Marx and a new film by Oliver Stone about him and other socialist leaders in South America. He said President Obama had recently maintained that sovereignty of others countries should be respected and no specific political system should be imposed on a country. Mr. Chavez urged the US president to end the embargo on Cuba and reiterated that the world should help end the political crisis in Honduras. He claimed that US Department of Defense was involved in Honduras rebel. Chavez slammed Obama administration for a plan of attaining seven military bases in Columbia for military operations.
