Indian Naval Chief Nirmal Kumar Verma has conceded that Mumbai attacks took place due to lapses in Indian coastal security, reported Dunya News. In his visit to Kuchi Naval Command, Verma maintained that coastal security had become a new challenge in the Indian waters and a co-operation by all the stakeholders was paramount. The naval chief believed had the Indian Navy and Coastal Guards defended coastal boundaries efficiently, the Mumbai terrorist attacks could have been foiled.
