Summary
Another dispute has been erupted in Afghanistans presidential elections after the vote monitoring body ordered for the first time that ballots be scrapped from 83 polling stations finding clear and convincing evidence of fraud in troubled elections. Investigation could be extended to other polling stations. The vote has been marred by low turnout after the threats of Taliban and widespread allegations of vote-rigging, intimidation and other fraud. According to vote monitoring body of the elections, clear evidence of fraud has been found in 83 polling stations of three provinces Paktika, Kandhar and Ghazni. Recounting of the votes would be held in these polling stations and president would be announced afterwards. Most of the presidential ballots in question came from Karzai strongholds.
