Summary Kuwait ruler has approved a new govt after weeks of political limbo with Opposition forces.

The official Kuwait News Agency says the new cabinet keeps the prime minister and other key positions intact, but it is likely to hold a caretaker role. Kuwaits emir, Sheik Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, is widely expected to dissolve parliament and call elections for later this year.Last month, Kuwaits parliament was suspended and a court later declared the February elections unconstitutional over procedural issues. The voting was led by Islamists and other opponents of Kuwaits Western-allied rulers.Kuwait has the Gulfs most politically independent parliament. It often demands to question top officials and has the ability to pass no-confidence votes on officials.
