Four Argentinian tourists died in a road accident in New Zealand after their car collided head-on with a logging truck, police said Thursday.The four men were killed instantly in the crash, which occurred at about 10:00pm Wednesday (1000 GMT) when their car pulled out to overtake another vehicle on a road near the North Island town of Ohakune, police said.A fifth man, from Chile, was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.I would say its up there with amongst the worst that I would have encountered in my 32 years in the police, Inspector Steve Mastrovich told New Zealand Newswire.The car was dragged for a distance, the truck has gone right over the car.Police named the dead men as German Caceres, 35, Nicolas Ursic, 27, Agustin Donofrio, 25, and Luciano Pucheta, 19.The injured Chilean was identified as Benjamin Blake, who is believed to be in his mid-20s.Police said the group had been working in the tourism industry in the region, which is home to the North Islands ski fields, and were returning to their accommodation from an indoor soccer game when the accident occurred.They said the truck driver was uninjured and investigations were being conducted to identify any factors that contributed to the crash.
