Summary

A popular London attraction, the London Dungeon, said on Thursday 400 people they have polled named British Prime Minister Gordon Brown as a modern day villain of the country worthy to be placed in medieval stocks to get a dose of old fashioned public humiliation. Medieval stocks has been installed outside the museum famous for its vivid horror and torture exposition based on the capital's darkest moments of the past including crimes of Jack the Ripper and the Great Fire of London. An actor wearing a Gordon Brown mask has been led to the stocks and subjected to pelting with rotten fruit and vegetables and eggs by the museum staff in front of the early morning commuters. It's just a bit of tongue and cheek fun. The London Dungeons are a very cheeky kind of attraction. It's just a chance for the public to vent some frustrations. I obviously don't recommend that they go and pelt the real Gordon Brown with some rotten eggs. I don't think he would appreciate that very much, said the London Dungeon PR officer Ellie Cowley. On the political front the ultimate capital punishment was reserved for BNP leader Nick Griffin. While Gordon Brown was voted to deserve being placed in the stocks, Prime minister narrowly beat the Meteorological Office's top weatherman Ewen McCallum.
