The lizard was stolen by burglars on Aug. 13.

A California elementary school teacher said a lizard was returned to her classroom 12 days after it was stolen from the school.Bonnie Wener of Troth Street Elementary School in Jurupa Valley said the Uromastyx lizard was stolen by burglars Aug. 13 alongside a tarantula and a bearded dragon and the lizard was returned Aug. 25 after a resident found it in a back yard, the Riverside (Calif.) Press-Enterprise reported Friday.Im so happy to have that poor little guy back, Werner said. And the children are ecstatic.Werner said the lizard was dirty, cold and lethargic when it was returned to her but is doing much better after being cleaned, fed and allowed to bask under the heat lamp.
