Rare six-legged calf born at dairy farm in southern India
(Reuters) - A dairy farmer from southern India was surprised recently to find one of his newborn calves had two extra legs.
A vet who came to see the unusual animal in Pondicherry in Tamil Nadu on January 7 said the calf was suffering from a rare condition called polymelia that affects only one in 100,000 cattle worldwide.
The extra limbs may have to be surgically removed, according to the vet.
