Chinese residents stunned after river turns green overnight

(Dunya News) – The residents in China’s Hebei Province became curious after seeing Yemao River turned into an unusual shade of bright green overnight earlier this week.
The local administration has claimed that the unusual colour appeared due to a type of nontoxic substance Fluorescein sodium which was released in the water to measure the streamflow.
The authorities have also temporarily stopped the water supply for the county.
