Woman returns library book after half a century; makes Guinness record by paying highest fine
(Web Desk) – Woman in the US state of Illinois, Emily Kenny Los Sims has got her name included in Guinness World Record after she paid highest library fine of $345 by returning a children’s poems ‘Days and Deeds’ which she found in her home with a stamp by the Kiwani Public Library and dated April 19, 1955.
The woman has returned the book, which was issued by her mother from the library for 2 cents a day, after half a century.
George Washington borrowed a book, The Law of Nations, from the New York Library after becoming president and didn t return it. The Mount Vernon estate returned it 221 years later.
