Google Maps disallowed in Italian town due to misleading navigation
People follow suggestions of Google Maps which are often misleading, Sardinia mayor said.
SADINIA (Dunya News) – Salvatore Corrias, mayor of a town in Sardinia, Italy has advised the tourists not to use Google maps and adopt pod-fashioned way to navigate the area.
The decision of the mayor of mountain town in Ogliastra, Baunei came after dozens get lost on quests for idyllic beaches.
“Too many sedans and small cars get stuck on impassable paths, sometimes it happens even to off-road vehicles too,” Salvatore Corrias, the mayor told.
People follow the suggestions of Google Maps which, on our roads, are often misleading, he added.
“Do not follow the directions suggested by Google Maps,” the new signs read in Italian and English.
