(Web Desk) – An 11-year-old boy has started taking five meals a day to save his father’s life.
Lu Zikuan, the eldest son in the family from Xinxiang City in Henan Province is gaining weight so that he can donate bone marrow to his father. “Even if it hurts, I’ll still eat,” Lu told.
Lu’s father has been suffering from preleukemia, also called Myelodysplastic syndrome.
“Preleukemia is a rare disease that results from blood cells that are not formed properly, caused by something amiss in the spongy material inside your bones where blood cells are made (bone marrow),” according to the Mayo Clinic.
“The doctor recommended that the best thing is a bone marrow transplant,” Lu’s mother told.
