Tokyo (Dunya News) –52-year-old Japanese man identified as Mitsuhiro Iwamoto has become the first blind person to cross the Pacific Ocean non-stop by boat.
The man had completed his 14,000-kilometre journey from San Diego to Fukushima in Japan in about two months with the assistance of an American navigator.
“I didn’t give up nd I made my dream come true,” Iwamoto said.
The Japanese man said that he embarked on the trip to raise funds for charity including measures to stop diseases causing blindness.
