New app diagnoses anemia from fingernails photos

LAHORE (Dunya News) –– An interesting mobile application has been created with which blood deficiency or anemia can easily be diagnosed merely with a picture of your nails.

According to the report, when we generally talk about blood deficiency or anemia, it is basically the low hemoglobin level of blood or deficiency of red blood cells. At present, around 2 billion people across the world are suffering from anemia.

A professor named Wilbur Lam of Emory University, Atlanta considered if a smartphone can help in diagnosis of blood deficiency and designed such an application which can diagnose anemia with fingernails photograph in a few seconds only.

The application has a diversified online database of hemoglobin patients and it can easily and accurately diagnose anemia within seconds.

The professor and his team are looking forward to create an app in the next phase for diagnosis of liver diseases with analysis of skin and eyes.
