The people in a suburban village of Gujranwala were taken by surprise when currency notes and flowers were showered on a wedding procession from a plane for three hours.According to reports, in the wedding ceremony of Abu Bakar Bhatti, his father, Safdar Bhati, chartered a plane to shower flowers on the wedding procession in bridegroom’s village, Rana.The ‘windfall’ crated a pandemonium in the village as people started running here and there to collect as much of the dropped currency notes as they could. People also viewed the scene from roofs of their houses in shock and awe.Some participants of the wedding resorted to aerial firing, creating panic in the village. Wahndo police have registered a case against the groom and six others. According to the groom’s father, 80 kilogrammes of flowers and Rs 200,000 were dropped from the plane.
