Summary McDonald's is now trying to make its Happy Meal focused on the necessary nutrition criteria

(Web Desk) – McDonald’s recently announced that it will be giving a makeover to its popular combo ‘Happy Meal’ by adding nutrition-focused items and making it healthier for children as well as grown-ups.

In a tweet, the global fast-food chain explained, “We are announcing our new 2022 global #HappyMeal goals. Over the next several years, we ll be focusing on nutrition criteria, simplifying ingredients, transparent nutrition information, recommended food groups and responsible marketing.”

McDonald’s said they are trying to increase customers’ access to fruit, vegetables, low-fat dairy and water. The company will remove certain unhealthy offerings and replace them with items like bottled water, smaller fries with less calories and sodium, grilled chicken sandwich and more.

Also, they are looking forward to reducing added sugars in hot and cold beverages, like chocolate milk, in a bid to cut calories.

People on Twitter didn’t like the idea of removing cheeseburgers and chocolate milk from the offerings in Happy Meal. “Will @McDonalds Happy Meal now be called the "Meh Meal?” asked one Internet user.

Another user demanded, “No. Put the cheeseburger back in the Happy Meal now! #NotARequest.”
