Summary A French woman will sail in a kite-like boat from Peru to France. The 44-year-old solo sailor intends to cover a distance of 4,200 nautical miles (about 7,778 km) to arrive at French Polynesia.
French woman Anne Quemere said that she will leave across the Pacific from the port of El Callao towards Tahiti in French Polynesia, which a trip she hopes to cover in more or less two months, which has a distance of 4,500 nautical miles which is equivalent to 7,500 kilometres. This is her second attempt to cross the Pacific by kite-sailing. Her first attempt was reluctantly abandoned, when she was let down by poor wind conditions.Quemere’s streamlined boat was on display at the yacht club at Lima s seaside resort of La Punta, where it was viewed by press and curious passersby.
