BANGKOK (Dunya News) - At least 250 couples participated in the ‘Running of the Brides’ race held in Bangkok, Thailand this week.

The brides and grooms-to-be ran a 2.4 mile course hoping to win more than two million baht (61,000 U.S. dollars or 51,000 euro) of wedding package prizes, including a pair of white gold diamond rings and a honeymoon trip to the Maldives.

The couples, wearing wedding outfits and running shoes, warmed up before the competition and ran with all their strength to win the exquisite package.

The brides hiked up their dresses while running whereas some of them were being carried on the back by their groom-to-be.

The race was won by Naree Phavasanta and Suparoek Charoenphol who celebrated while crossing the finish line.
