Baby elephant set on fire by angry mob in India

Dunya News

The angry mob was throwing fireballs at a baby elephant and mother when the baby caught fire

(Web Desk) – The war between the humans and animals is getting worse in some of the states in India as angry mobs threw fireballs at elephants in West Bengal and one baby elephant caught fire.

According to details, the elephant was set on fire by the angry mob along with its mother. The photo taken by Biplab Hazra shows a baby elephant and mother trying to cross the road while the baby elephant was totally set on fire and the mother also had fire on her foot.

The picture titled ‘Hell is here’ won the award in Sanctuary magazine’s photo contest, as it clearly demonstrated the plight of the animals in West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu and other states of the country.

It is pertinent to mention here that India is home to some 30,000 Asian elephants and the country boasts having 70% of the total population of the species in the world. However, these animals are in danger as more than 1000 people have been killed by animals during the last three and half years in various states.

The fate of the two elephants is unknown but the wars between humans and animals in India for the shrinking forests is depicted in its severity through this picture.
