However, a farmer from Rasulpur village in Moradabad district of India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh was amazed to find unique potatoes that weighed from one to two kilograms in his farmland, sans any hybrid seeds, techniques or inorganic fertilisers.

Yesterday while taking out potatoes, the labourers noticed some thing like stone. When the men noticed these big stone sized thing, they were surprised. They were wondering as to what this thing could be. When we examined this it was a potato and there were many of such mega sized potatoes, said Hemraj, owner of the farmland.Indeed, the farmhands as well as other villagers are in a state of surprise as they have seen such gigantic potatoes for the first time. Every year we cultivate potatoes. Every year we get potatoes of different varieties. We have never seen such a variety of potato, which has been grown here this time, said Ramji, a farmhand. According to agronomists, these rare potatoes are of Kokhral variety. Normal potatoes weigh from fifty grams to four hundred grams but this unique variety is much bigger in size as well as weight.
