Summary According to a survey, one in every three Russians believes that the earth is the center of the solar system and humans have existed ever since dinosaurs roamed the earth.

According to a survey recently conducted by All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center, VsTIOM, one in every three Russian thinks that the sun revolves around the earth, said Olga Kamenchuk, a spokesperson for state pollster VsTIOM.In a survey released earlier this week, 55 percent of all Russians believed that all radioactivity is man-made, 32 percent believed the Earth was the center of the Solar system and 29 percent that the first humans lived when dinosaurs still roamed the Earth.The poll consisted of 1600 people from different regions across Russia. The survey had a 3.4% margin for error and the data speaks of the low levels of education in the country said Olga Kamenchuk. The study also found that women were more likely than men to believe the scientific fallacies.In defense of the people, she added that people tend to forget what they have been taught at school if it is not part of daily use.
