Summary The update enables users to reorganize photos and videos on their profile grid through a simple drag-and-drop system
(Web Desk) - Instagram has finally introduced a highly anticipated feature that allows users to rearrange posts on their profile grids, giving them greater control over how their content is displayed.
According to Meta, the new feature is being rolled out gradually to users worldwide. The company said it took time to ensure the tool was implemented properly before making it widely available.
The update enables users to reorganize photos and videos on their profile grid through a simple drag-and-drop system, regardless of when the posts were originally published.
However, posts that have been pinned will remain fixed at the top of the profile and will appear faded during the reordering process, meaning they cannot be moved from their pinned positions.
The feature was first spotted in 2022 when app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi discovered an "Edit Grid" option within Instagram's code, hinting at the platform's plans to offer greater profile customization.
Its official launch comes nearly a year after Instagram chief Adam Mosseri announced that the company was working on the feature, opening up new possibilities for users to curate and personalize their profiles.
