LAHORE (Dunya News) - The birthday of the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional, Arfa Karim Randhawa, is being celebrated on Monday (today).
Arfa Karim was born on February 2, 1995 in the village of Ram Diwali in Faisalabad. She achieved international fame by obtaining a software certificate at the age 9.
Arfa Karim’s achievements remained a source of pride and inspiration even today, adding that her vision was to see Pakistan equipped with modern technology and knowledge.
She was awarded the Microsoft Applications Certified Certificate by Microsoft Corporation in 2005. Microsoft owner Bill Gates specially invited Arfa Karim to the United States and met with her.
Arfa Karim won many awards at a young age, including the Fatima Jinnah Gold Medal, the Salam Pakistan Youth Award, and the Presidential Medal of Excellence. In January 2012, then Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani approved the issuance of a commemorative stamp in Arfa Karim's name.
In recognition of Arfa Karim's commendable and great achievement, the Punjab government named the IT Tower and her village after her.
