WhatsApp plans to launch video messages feature
(Web Desk) – The widely popular messaging app, WhatsApp, is working on a new feature that will allow users send video messages in real time.
When this feature will be rolled out, users can easily press the camera butting to record and send short videos to send to their contacts, according to Wabetainfo that closely monitors developments in WhatsApp.
It said the video messages will be end-to-end encrypted as no one other than recipients can see it, not even WhatsApp.
In addition, it will be possible for users to record video messages for up to 60 seconds. However, they will not be able to save and forward video messages but it is still possible to record them via screen recording as the video is not sent by using the view once mode.
A key difference between a video and a video message is that a video message is recorded and sent in real time, while a video is pre-recorded and saved before being shared to others.
