Action is due to rental arrears on social networking platform's office space in London

LONDON (Reuters) - A court case against Twitter for allegedly unpaid rent on its London headquarters was announced by Britain s Crown Estate, a private company that oversees the monarchy s property estate.

According to court records, the London High Court received the complaint against Twitter last week.

The action was due to rental arrears on the social networking platform s office space in the British capital, according to a statement from the Crown Estate, which is the owner of some of the most costly land in central London.

After Elon Musk took charge in October the firm fired half of its employees. Any traces that Twitter had formerly occupied the London office were removed and it was left abandoned.
