Advertising too huge and too frequent, measures would be made to solve problems, says Twitter owner
(Reuters) - Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, said on Twitter on Saturday that adverts will not be included in a more expensive membership to the social media site.
The billionaire said that Twitter s advertising are too huge and too frequent and that in the upcoming weeks measures would be made to solve these problems.
Nearly 90% of Twitter s income comes from the sale of digital adverts and Musk recently blamed a huge loss in revenue on rights groups who persuaded companies to suspend their Twitter advertising.
Musk stated that Twitter would provide a higher tier with no adverts by 2023 and that the Basic blue tick will have half as many advertisements as it currently has.
