It will let you record your own alarm, timer sounds directly from app
(Web Desk) - The Google Clock app is getting a new feature that will let you record your own alarm and timer sounds directly from the app. On version 7.3 of the app the functionality is being rolled out via a server-side update and it can be found as a Record new option under the Alarm sound and Timer sound settings.
The procedure isn t simple. After recording your alarm sound you must use a file management program to copy it to the Alarms folder in the internal storage of your smartphone.
When you select the Add new button in the Alarm sound settings it then appears as one of the sound options.
Sadly it looks that this function is only available on Pixel phones because it uses the Pixel-exclusive Recorder software. The Recorder software may, however, already be preloaded in certain modified ROMs making it accessible.
