OPPO Reno4 and Reno4 Pro launched with Snapdragon 765G, 65W Fast Charging

BEIJING (Web Desk) - OPPO has announced two new models in the Reno4 series today in China. The Reno4 and the Reno4 Pro are upper mid-range smartphones featuring a powerful camera setup, optimized for videography. Another big highlight of the new OPPO Reno4 series is its slim and lightweight form factor.

The OPPO Reno4 Pro is the real star of the series featuring a curved AMOLED display upfront and a 3D curved back for better ergonomics. The standard Reno4 comes with a simple, flat AMOLED panel. Both the phones have triple cameras at the back, but the Pro variant packs a more powerful setup. You also get a bunch of fancy colors on the Reno4 Pro including the brand new Reno Glow Blue and Reno Glow Red color variants. There’s even a Pantene Summer Green edition for the Pro model alongside two other regular Black and White color options. The standard Reno4 has three color options: Diamond Blue, Black, and White.

The standard Reno4 weights 183 grams and measures 7.8mm in thickness. However, the Reno4 Pro has an even slimmer 7.6mm body, weighing just 172 grams. This makes the Pro model, one of the lightest 5G smartphones in the market right now.

Both models are powered by the Snapdragon 765G processor with Adreno 620 GPU. You get liquid cooling too to ensure the phone doesn’t overheat when running intensive tasks. Naturally, given the CPU, both the devices come with 5G support too. The Reno4 has just 8GB of RAM with 128GB and 256GB storage options, but the Reno4 Pro includes a top-end 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM variant too.

As for the display, the Reno4 comes with a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel while the Reno4 Pro has a much better 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR10+ and low Blue Light certification. Another big feature exclusive to the Reno4 Pro model is dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sound.

Both the phones feature a 4000mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC fast charging. This fills up the battery to 60% in just 15 minutes and 100% in just 36 minutes. They also run on the new ColorOS 7.2 UI based on Android 10.

Cameras are the real highlight of the two devices. The OPPO Reno4 comes with a 48MP IMX586 f/1.7 primary camera that’s paired with an 8MP 119-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP black and white sensor.

The Reno4 Pro comes with the same primary 48MP IMX586 camera but has OIS. The second sensor is a 12MP IMX708 1.4μm 120-degree ultra-wide-angle f/2.2 shooter and a 13MP f/2.4 telephoto shooter with 5x optical zoom and 20x digital zoom support. They both have a laser focus sensor.

Both models come with OPPO’s ultra-clear low light algorithm, which was reportedly developed for more than a year in the company’s institute. The new night algorithm enables clear and colorful night videos. They also support OPPO’s Video Anti-Shake 3.0 technology when using the ultra-wide-angle sensor as well as front camera video stabilization.

The new Reno4 models add a live HDR video mode and 21:9 custom movie shooting mode with manual parameter adjustment options which the company claims offer a more professional shooting experience. This paired with OPPO’s Soloop video editor which features classic movie filters and soundtracks, you can produce high-quality videos right from your Reno4 smartphone.

Both phones support up to 4K 30fps and up to 720p 240fps slo-mo video shooting from its rear cameras. The front cameras are also capable of 1080p 30fps videography.

The Reno4 comes with a dual punch-hole front camera setup featuring a 32MP primary camera and a 2MP secondary one. The Pro model comes with one single 32MP front selfie shooter. Both models have front video stabilization (software) and AI Smart Beauty ‘face repair’ algorithm that enhances clarity and fixes blurry faces even when the lighting is dim.
