SICHUAN (Reuters) - New technologies including 5G, 4K and artificial intelligence (AI) are being highlighted at the Internet Audio and Video Innovation Exhibition, which opened on Tuesday in Chengdu, the capital city of southwest China’s Sichuan Province.
As part of the 7th China Internet Audio and Video Convention, this exhibition has attracted many broadcasting and television agencies including China Media Group, as well as online websites and relevant enterprises to participate in the event.
At the convention, China Media Group has been displaying its achievements in the fields of media convergence, international communication and the development of new technologies, especially 5G, 4K and AI.
"The visitors came to our booth and they were very interested in the new technologies of 5G, 4K and AI, asking questions about their development. We have achieved many firsts in the overall strategic layout of ‘5G+4K+AI,’ such as establishing China’s first national 5G new media platform this year, launching the first 4K Ultra High-Definition (UHD) satellite channel and constructing the first ‘5G+4K+AI’ media application lab. With the guidance of these new technologies, we will promote the development of media convergence," said Zhang Ying, a staff member from the China Media Group booth.
Other exhibitors also presented their latest high tech products. Chengdu Radio and TV Station built a 5G studio at the exhibition to transmit Ultra-HD videos to its media terminals.
"Our live broadcasting signals can provide different broadcasts to the mobile terminals, including signals to show the live experience of visitors at the exhibition, signals to show the talks with the guests and signals to present the forums of the convention. The omnimedia live center is built using the context of reforming media convergence. We hope that these Internet technologies can voice the mainstream media more widely and more efficiently," said Qiu Li, staff member at the Chengdu Radio and TV Station.
