Experts speak highly of 5G, 4K exhibition
In the exhibition area, visitors could not only experience one-minute newscast at the anchor desk but also enjoy the 8K video images shot by the China Media Group.
BEIJING (Reuters) - Experts, domestic and foreign, spoke highly of the "5G+4K" media technology fair at the Belt and Road Innovation Forum on 5G+4K Communication, which inaugurated in Beijing on Sunday.
Hosted by the China Media Group and the Belt and Road Media Community, the event gathered over 150 media practitioners and exhibited cutting-edge video devices and new media technologies including the 5G, 4K and artificial intelligence.
Many advanced equipment combining 5G, 4K and AI technology did not only bring visitors into an audio-visual world but also presented even more situations where AI can be applied.
"From HD to 4K or from 4K to 8K, high resolutions create a better telepresence on a larger screen. This will allow users to enjoy at home the on-the-spot ambiance," said Bai Yunyi with program and marketing department of Sony.

"4K, especially 5G plus 4K, are what our TV workers have to apply because the 5G+4K technology has the advantage of promptness and veracity and could be used for big data analysis. The TV program shots in China could be received simultaneously in Malaysia, which could bring you more audience in southeast Asia," said Dato Sam Yap, Chairman of Enjoy TV.
The advanced "5G+4K+AI" technology also left a good impression to some foreign media workers, who said that the technology will bring audience a good experience and a brighter future of the industry.
"So 5G network has a lot of advantages in terms of it can give access to a lot of real-time real-world applications including drive-less cars, including many other applications where instant communication is required. And 5G is also very important for the validity of 4K signals in terms of mobile consumption of 4K content and 4K content itself," said Prashant Chothani, CEO of the TravelXP 4K TV Channel.
Syrus Lohrasb, CEO of the China-Britain Business Fusion, said: "What AI can do is to collect all the data, information, in terms of clear and concise datasites that can be used as becoming and making television and radio program more interactive, more proactive with the customers. So basically, you deliver what the customer wants in the first place, not what the TV wants to project itself."
The forum on communication technologies of 5G and 4K, was held ahead of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation with the aim of promoting exchanges between media outlets.
