Microsoft could unveil its first foldable smart-phone in 2019
The Microsoft has moved its focus towards foldable phones and dual-screen devices.
(Web desk) – The year 2019 is being called “the year of foldable smart-phones.”
Following the Royole Corp (FlexPai) and the Samsung’s first commercial foldable phones in the world, the Microsoft is set to join the bandwagon with customized Windows interface for future devices.
According to ‘theVerge’ reports, the Microsoft has moved its focus towards foldable phones and dual-screen devices for its future Windows and Surface products.
The company has been working on a modified version of Windows that could run applications on the future foldable screens.
The website has also reported that Microsoft has been working with the chipset partner Intel and other OEMs to develop Windows-based foldable devices.
These devices could succeed the 2-in-1 currently offered by several PC and laptop brands.
Moreover, the first codes hinting at Microsoft foldable devices were spotted online.
In this regard, Microsoft has long been rumoured to be working on a project “Andromeda”.
According to a new book ‘Beneath a Surface’, written by journalist and tech blog Thurrot.com collaborator Brad Sam, the foldable phone with Windows could launch in late 2019.
