Summary You may share things making you happy, sad but there are certain things that you must not post

LAHORE: (Web Desk) – Social media has become the most important tool for staying in contact with families, friends, fans and almost whoever one wants to. Not only do we keep people posted about our thinking and opinions but also share with them through social media our achievements, our happiness and our sadness. But there are certain personal things that one must not share on social media to avoid getting into trouble.

Although it seems harmless to make people feel jealous of you by posting your holiday trip posts but it may be really harmful for you if you also upload the image of your boarding pass. Cyber crime specialist Brian Krebs says that personal data, such as your boarding pass images, must never be shared on social media since hackers can access your phone numbers, date of birth and even your passport details. On the other hand, criminals may also get your information regarding your trip and rest of the related details.

Similarly, posting the images of your pay checks, credit cards and bank account details etc. may never be shared as well. It’s like inviting the problems. Hackers may not only rid you of your possessions, they may even leave you in coffers with the help of such details.

Another such thing can be lottery tickets. If you have somehow won a lottery, never ever boast it on your profiles. Because once you upload the image of the ticket that won you the lottery, only God may help you. Professional criminals and hackers on internet can easily make fake lottery tickets, capitalising on your mistake, and you may almost immediately lose whatever you’ve won in the lottery.

Posting the image of your birth certificate may also turn out to be a grave mistake. So much so that it may even result in you losing your very own identity. So never post the image of your newborn’s birth certificate. That may not only put his/her life in danger but also expose their identity to be stolen. In fact a birth certificate is the first government document of a human being. It is through this document that the kid gets admission into school, and later gets his identity card, passport or driving license. If this all important document falls into someone else’s hands, that guy may have complete power on you. You may become a victim of a massive fraud as well.
