Summary The Xbox One will soon get functionality that lets users take screenshots.
(Web Desk) -The burgeoning console war has forced Microsoft to reconsider getting a screenshot capture feature on its next generation Xbox One gaming console. The lack of a screenshot capture feature has been a significant bone of contention for Xbox One users.
While arch rival Sony s PlayStation 4 console comes pre-equipped with the feature, the Xbox One features a video capture feature alone. The Playstation 4 on the other hand can capture both still and video footage.
The lack of a screenshot capture feature in the Xbox One means users have to depend solely on videos or live-streams to share their gaming moments. This in turn requires users to have a very good Internet connection.
Users who wish to take screenshots while playing on the Xbox One need to buy a capture card that usually comes with a hefty price tag of Rs. 10,000 and above.
Thankfully, Microsoft has finally given in to the hue and cry of many a Xbox One users and is now considering to bring in the feature to the console soon.
"Screenshots are coming early this year. I know it s been a question for quite awhile. We delivered themes. I think that a natural add-on to themes are screenshots. Giving people more ability to share their great gaming moments on the platform whether it s just as a screenshot as their background or through many of the different social networks that we allow people to share their content through is a long term commitment that we have," Microsoft s Xbox division head, Phil Spencer was quoted as saying in a new video released by the company.
Although we have no exact date as to when this will happen, we believe the feature maybe introduced at Microsoft s Windows 10 event on January 21 since there are rumours that the company will make a major announcement with regards to its popular gaming console.
