Microsoft’s video calling product Skype on Thursday unveiled its much anticipated and promising new app for iPhones. The new app that was completely rebuilt aims to give a tough competition to the comparative products available for the iOS devices.
The new version dubbed Skype 5 for iPhone brings an update Windows Phone style interface including swiping between pages, animated transitions and tiles for favourite contacts and despite all that, the speed is five times faster than the normal one, Skype official told media.
One of the newly added features is the group text chat, meaning that a text chat can be initiated from app’s main pages and also supports photo and video messages.
According to details, users now get more control over the notification features in the new version. The version fixes the duplicate or multiple notification problems.
"Everything we've done, we've done because of our users," Skype official said. "We were laser focused on performance and making the app more stable, faster, and simpler."
He said the company is now anxious about users’ feedback and that further changes would be made depending upon the performance and feedback.
