Summary Jasprit Bumrah recorded an unwanted IPL milestone after taking only four wickets in 13 matches and conceding more than 100 runs per wicket during the season.
MUMBAI (Web Desk) – Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah endured a disappointing season in the Indian Premier League after registering an unwanted record in T20 cricket history.
According to Indian media reports, the Mumbai Indians pacer became the first bowler in IPL history to concede more than 100 runs per wicket in a season.
Bumrah struggled to produce his trademark performances throughout the campaign, managing only four wickets in 13 matches while failing to take more than one wicket in any game.
He conceded a total of 294 runs during the season and maintained an economy rate of 8.37.
Reports stated that his bowling average stood at 102.50, while his strike rate was recorded at 73.50.
The record was compiled among bowlers who had completed at least 40 overs in the tournament.
Cricket experts suggested that opposition batters adopted a cautious approach against Bumrah, avoiding unnecessary attacking shots, which limited his wicket-taking opportunities.
