ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has launched the National Talent Identification and Verification System (NTIVS), a digital and merit-based platform aimed at discovering young athletes across the country.

PSB Director General Yasir Pirzada said the system is designed to provide talented players with a transparent and structured pathway to showcase their abilities at the national level.

He noted that in the past, athletes often faced limited opportunities and had to rely on personal connections, whereas NTIVS seeks to bridge this gap.

The program is open to Pakistani citizens aged 12 to 25 (excluding cricket), and applications can be submitted year-round through the PSB website in both Urdu and English. No application fee has been set.

Pirzada explained that initial screening of applications will be conducted by an independent panel of experts.

Shortlisted candidates will then be referred to the relevant national sports federations for further trials and technical evaluation.

Final selection authority will rest with the respective federations, while the PSB will oversee transparency in the process.

Physical evaluation camps will be held in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit, and Skardu to ensure equal opportunities for athletes from remote regions.

He added that the initiative marks a significant step toward transforming talent scouting into a transparent, inclusive, and merit-based national system, aimed at ensuring that no talented athlete is overlooked due to lack of opportunity.
