ABIDJAN (Dunya News) - Pakistan’s women’s football team delivered a historic performance as they thrashed Turks and Caicos Islands 8-0 in their opening match of the Fifa Series at the Stade Alassane Ouattara.

The emphatic victory marks Pakistan’s biggest-ever win in international women’s football, surpassing their previous 7-0 triumph over the Maldives in 2022.

Layla Banaras added a third with a composed finish after a skilful run, before Mariam Mahmood capped off the first half with a well-taken volley to make it 4-0.

Pakistan maintained control after the break, continuing their attacking momentum. Nadia Khan extended the lead with a header in the 56th minute, while Aqsa netted her second with a long-range strike.

Layla also grabbed her second goal with a precise effort from outside the box, and Isra Khan sealed the comprehensive victory with Pakistan’s eighth goal late in the match.
