KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan’s Olympic star Arshad Nadeem added another glittering chapter to his career as he claimed the gold medal in the javelin throw event at the National Games.
Nadeem dominated the field with an impressive throw of 81.81 metres, securing first place with a comfortable lead.
WAPDA’s Yasir Sultan delivered a solid performance to take silver, recording a best throw of 70.77 metres.
Meanwhile, Abrar Ali of Pakistan Army clinched the bronze medal with a throw of 67.68 metres, rounding off a competitive podium.
Earlier, the Olympic hero had energised the crowd during the opening ceremony, performing a special exhibition throw in front of chief guest Bilawal Bhutto, drawing loud applause from the spectators.

After an 18-year hiatus, the National Games returned to Karachi, drawing thousands of athletes and spectators despite the city’s dust, diversions and delays.
Nearly 2,500 participants marched into the National Stadium for the opening ceremony, where colourful cultural displays and buzzing crowds set the tone for the event.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the National Games in Karachi, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said he hoped these athletes would go on to make Pakistan proud at the global level.
He noted that young people were being provided a positive and healthy environment through such events.
