Scotland won the homeless football world cup in Paris by beating Mexico 4-3 in a thrilling final.

A team of Scottish homeless footballers lifted the homeless football world cup trophy in Paris. The founders brought together 64 soccer teams from around the world as a means to promote social inclusion of homeless and marginalised people, they say, to try and show them that anything is possible in sport.In a final of intense and pacy football, the Scotland side were always one step ahead, finally winning 4 - 3.At the bottom of the Eiffel tower and in the presence of former World Cup champions Emmanuel Petit and Lilian Thuram, the Scots were awarded the winners trophy.Ecstatic, so ecstatic, it makes homelessness worth it so its an absolutely fantastic experience for me and the boys. Theyve worked so so hard and I think they deserve everything they got. I had doubts because saw teams that were very strong , but in Gods name, we did it.The aim of the tournament is to promote its homeless-to-work model to policy makers and the public, with the vision, they say, to shift attitude and thus policies towards the homeless.
