Champions Trophy: Netherlands beat Pakistan 4-0
Netherlands registered a 4-0 win over Pakistan in the Champions Trophy on Tuesday.
BREDA (Agencies) – Host nation the put themselves back in title contention with an emphatic 4-0 win against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy Hockey Tournament in Breda on Tuesday.
This was Pakistan’s third defeat in as many matches in the 37th edition of the Champions Trophy. Pakistan were beaten by arch rival India 4-0 in the opening match of the tournament on Saturday (June 23) while the Green Shirts suffered a 2-1 defeat against Australia on Sunday (June 24).
Netherlands scored two goals in the both the second and fourth quarters, with Robbert Kemperman and Valentin Verga giving the Dutch a 2-0 advantage ahead of half time before Thijs van Dam and Mirco Pruijser completed proceedings.
