Paragliders take to the skies in Muzaffarabad

(Dunya News) – The skies over the Azad Jammu and Kashmir capital Muzaffarabad witnessed a rainbow of colourful parachutes as paragliders took part in a three-day show which kicked off over the weekend.

Flying down like birds from the sky, paragliders mesmerised spectators in Muzaffarabad with a thrilling show.

For three days, paragliders from all over Pakistan will participate in this paragliding show. The show is held at Peer Chanasi, a famous tourist destination, at an altitude of 2,924 metres above the sea level.

Paragliders flew their colourful parachutes from a height of 9,500 feet. Spectators watched and cheered the paragliders from the runway of Muzaffarabad’s airport.

Organised by the department of tourism and Pakistan army, participants in the show expressed their excitement to be able to fly over the skies of Muzaffarabad.

Speaking to Dunya News, visitors said that they enjoyed the event with their families. “Such events should be organised at all levels because it attracts tourism in our region," said one of the attendees.

Azad Kashmir’s mountains are ideal spot for paragliding and through such and other initiatives, enthusiasts believe, the government can promote not just paragliding but also tourism.
