(Dunya News) – Receiving the silver medal at an international powerlifting tournament in Melbourne, Peshawar’s Maryam Naseem is a living example of the fact that, if provided the opportunity, women of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are no less when it comes to proving their mettle.
Talking to Dunya News, Naseem said that while powerlifting is not much popular in the country, she not only aims to make Pakistan proud by achieving more in the sport, but also plans to play her role in promoting it.
“My main focus for now is to represent Pakistan internationally while introducing the sport in the country properly,” she said.
Naseem, who has made the country proud, is hopeful that she will continue to bring honour to Pakistan by accomplishing more at the international level.
