Summary LA Mayor Garcetti told that over a million Facebook users liked Los Angeles 2024 Olympics campaign
(Web Desk) – It was reported that the campaign to host 2024 Olympic Games in Los Angeles mostly got Facebook likes from Pakistan, strangely. Over a million Facebook users gave thumbs up to the idea of hosting LA 2024 Olympics.
Most of the people who supported the idea during the past six weeks didn’t even belong to the US state of South California. The people belonging from Pakistan, Nepal, Indonesia, Egypt, India, Afghanistan and Bangladesh mostly liked the campaign on the social networking site.
The LA 2024 Olympics campaign spokesperson Jeff Millman told that the happening was not odd because they had kicked off the campaign through advertisement on Feb 3, adding that they had now realised that Facebook ads were more effective in countries with less brand competition. He believes that it made sense to seek international fans for Los Angeles 2024 Olympics.
Initially, the likes originated from the United States and France. The likes then gradually started coming from French colonies like Tunisia and Algeria before drawing huge response from Asia.
According to the Socialbakers’ research, people from low-income countries supported the campaign to host Olympics 2024 in LA and triggered likes because of the techniques used in social media advertisements and other paid methods.
