Summary If the trials go well, FIFA would like to use this feature in World Cup next year.

LONDON (Dunya News) – Owing to promising results of video referees tests, FIFA is looking to use the feature in next year’s World Cup.

According to The Times, David Elleray, the former English referee who is now technical director of the International Football Association Board (IFAB), said that the trials have enabled several issues with the system to be ironed out. The results of the tests, mainly held in the Netherlands and Italy, will be presented at the annual meeting of the IFAB, the game’s law-making body, in London next month.

“If the trials go well, FIFA would like to have the option to use it for the World Cup next year.” Elleray added.
