LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan team has arrived in Malaysia on Tuesday for Asian Champions Trophy leaving the captain behind as his passport was with British embassy.
Reportedly, the captain, Muhammad Irfan had submitted his passport at British embassy which the authorities there could not return him in time.
Irfan, according to the sources, paid several visits to the embassy for retrieval of the required documents but no timely steps were taken causing the team to leave for the tournament without the captain.
Shahbaz Senior, Secretary of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) have stated that a substitute would be added in Irfan’s place if the issue was not resolved until Wednesday. Team management was responsible to replace Irfan with another captain for the tournament, he added.
